Remember The Days (feat. B.Richdrumz)

about

BEST NIGHT EVER were supposed to be bringing their unique brand of carefully crafted alt-pop tunes to music festivals and live venues across the West Coast in 2020. And then it happened; the COVID-19 pandemic struck and put a long, cold pause on the live music and entertainment industry.

During these unprecedented times, the group managed to become fluent in a digital approach to artistic expression. They wrote, recorded, and created a video for their new song "Remember The Days" entirely from the isolation of their own homes and in just a few weeks. The song's poignant tone touches on themes of childhood innocence and speaks to feelings of loneliness and isolation that are directly inspired by the COVID-19 crisis.

Remember The Days was also the catalyst for a new, collaborative approach for the band. Learning to work remotely and adapt their creative output to the new normal, the group sought out LA session drummer Bianca Richardson (aka b.richdrumz) to contribute to their new song. Her fiery performance on Remember The Days shows why her list of performance credits includes Willow Smith, Marcus Miller & Moonchild, among others.

Back in 2019, the band released FIVE brand new singles including the 80’s inspired jam “Set Me Free”, the reggae-soul tinged “Easy to Love” and the 90’s-esque R&B bop “Better”. They also saw their live performance videos gain some virality, accumulating over 3.5 million views and garnering over 6000 subscribers on YouTube to date.

Throughout 2019 and 2020 they were invited to perform at festivals across the PNW including The Five Acre Shaker (Port Alberni, BC), The Clover Valley Beer Festival (Surrey, BC), Volume Inlander Festival (Spokane, WA), Tiny Lights (Ymir, BC) and had headlining spots at the Harmony Arts Festival (West Vancouver), Shipyards Festival (North Vancouver) and WR Sea Festival (White Rock, BC). The band’s debut 2015 album was engineered and mixed by Elisa Pangsaeng (Hey Ocean!, Said the Whale) and led to local radio support and placement of their song Dancing By Yourself in the Leo-nominated feature film FSM.

lyrics

I can't forget, when all we had to lose was time
And no regrets, we were young, and free, and we were so alive
Running from the past won't change things
Can't erase the memories of you
Everything I know is fading
'Till I, step through the light

Remember The Days, it was easy
Caught in a wave, am I breathing
If I stay the same, for no reason
Looking back, it won't change a thing

Remember The Days
Looking back, it won't change a thing.

We count the days, we don't even know how long.
So many ways, we don't ever want to be alone.
Running from the past won't change things
Can't erase the memories of you
Everything we know is fading
Till we, step through the light

Remember the days, it was easy
Caught in a wave, are we breathing
If we stay the same, for no reason
Looking back, it won't change a thing

Remember the days, it was easy
Caught in a wave, are we breathing
If we stay the same, for no reason
Looking back, it won't change a thing

Remember The Days
Remember The Days
Looking back, I wouldn't change a thing.
